These researchers have often used objectification principle to guide their research. According to objectification concept (Fredrickson & Roberts 1997) girls dwelling in sexually saturated cultures are looked at, evaluated, and potentially objectified and handled as objects valued for his or her use by others. Objectification theory focuses on sexual objectification as a perform of objectifying gaze, which is experienced in actual social encounters, media depictions of social encounters, and media depictions that focus on our bodies and body components. The principle explains that objectifying gaze evokes an objectified state of consciousness which influences self-perceptions. This objectified state of consciousness has penalties similar to recurring physique and appearance monitoring and requires cognitive effort that can end result in difficulty with task efficiency (Szymanski et al. 2011).
